Film Lighting:
The Basics with Chris Obal

WPFG Studios and Producer William Blesch would like to invite you to a completely hands-on Film Lighting Workshop taught by veteran director of photography, Chris Obal on June 17th, 2008 at the Golden Touch Enrichment Academy in Austin, Tx.

There are currently thirty (30) slots open for those wishing to learn the basics of film and video lighting. Going from 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. (with a small break for lunch) this eight-hour workshop will give those who wish to pursue a career path leading to a director of photography position a firm knowledge base from which to launch that career.

These foundational basics are also great for the first time guerilla filmmaker, the film student who is fed up with only getting theory, as well as filmmakers who normally work in the camera department or directorial unit, and who wish to expand their knowledge base.

Subjects covered in the eight hour workshop will include:

- Lighting Safety

- Moving and Setting Up Gear
- Electricity
- Hot Lamps

- Equipment

- Parts of a light
- Accessories
- Types of lights

- Lighting a Subject

- Three Point Lighting
- Deviating from Three Point Lighting
